Documenting your code with phpCoder 2008

January 9, 2008

I hope you've all had a wonderful Christmas. I've spent some of mine in the company with a new friend: phpCoder 2008 :). Most of the time was used correcting minor bugs and implementing new features, and my TODO list has decreased a lot over the last two weeks. One of the things I have worked quite a bit on, is support for code documentation. The most used system seems to be phpdoc, and phpCoder comes with some pretty cool support for this, as you will see in this video I have created for you. As usual, if you have any questions or comments, be sure to let me know :)

Be sure to subscribe to the RSS feed to be notified when new cool stuff is posted to this blog - the beta version will be announced right here, when it's ready!

    Weeeheeeeeeeee !!
    I’m drooling !
When I see your video … when you demonstrate the “Func2″, I said to myself « I’ll suggest that it would be great to be able to generate the PhpDoc “from” the function directly », with pre-insered @params … and what I see just after that ? … YOU DID IT !

    Greaaaaaaat ! :)

    Good job.

I really like this, but I dont really get it, what is the difference between webcoder and phpcoder except the name and that phpCoder got even more phpfunctionality? Thought webcoder were designed to be a php editor? Will phpCoder be bigger than webcoder? I mean ftp-functionality, mysql-functionality and so on? =) Would be really sad to lack the good sweet webcoder functions in phpCoder! Keep it up good =)

    Tobias

Thanks YeLL, I really appreciate the kind words, and I’m glad that you like what you’re seeing so far :)

Tobias, phpCoder is somewhere in between WebPad and WebCoder. It has a light interface, but more PHP related functionality. While WebCoder has to focus on several technologies and be good at all of them, the main goal of phpCoder is to be really good with PHP. I think you will see the difference once it’s released :)
